-SG- Here's a fine action shot of Jimmy Shaw and his works CS1 at the 1927 Ulster. This bike - or shall we say, the bike with this registration number - has appeared a few times (here and here) already on the website. The item dangling from the frame just in front of the rear wheel is curious: something similar was fitted to Woods' 1926 TT winning bike. My guess is that it was some sort of rubberised canvas flap attached to the bottom of the mudguard and intended to minimise oil getting onto the rear tyre but any other suggestions will be welcome.
