-JdK- Jacques in France sent this postcard (above) of Stanley and his 1926 ON7170-registered dry sump Norton. An intriguing machine that featured on this website before and probably is his 1926 TT winner. Surprisingly it has a flat tank in the picture above and pannier tanks in the photo below!
The pannier tanks were prone to leakage and perhaps that is why it has a regular racing tank fitted on the occasion above. For what it is worth, the machine ridden by Alec Bennett in the 1926 TT did not have pannier tanks fitted either.
