-SG- The recent entry about my 'perhaps Martlet' piston has prompted Peter Thompson in NZ to send the attachment from 'The Motor Cycle' for 27th November 1913 (Olympia Show report) - the piston used in TT Nortons for 1914. This is another piston with but one ring, doubtless devised by the redoubtable Mr Norton himself! He obviously felt this was the right way to go, as the press release giving details of Norton's 1914 range (13th November 1913) specifically mentions the 'grooved piston with single ring' being the standard fitment for the coming year's models.
