1930 Model 18 Norton

-JdK- A nice photo of a 1930 Model 18 Norton. (Very similar to the 1929 models seen from the drive-side - but one can just make out the pillar on the head on which the rockerbox sits, which suggests 1930).

-SG- A few points worth noting. Plating: the front wheel bearing dustcap. Primary chain case: still the 1929 type on this bike though I have come across a few 1930 machines with a one piece cast aluminium primary chain cover. Silencer: good to see one in the flesh, so to speak, instead of the usual retouched catalogue illustrations. Tank lining: note relatively wide black lining.
