Let me quote from Alan's message: "... the whole occasion seems to have been perceived locally (or at least by the journalist concerned) as a very low-key event and Rem Fowler is listed as riding a Peugeot! To put it in context however, it was 1907 and the majority of Manx residents would have still got around either on foot, by bicycle or some horse drawn vehicle and the journalist probably knew very little or absolutely nothing about motorcycles!"
