-SG- Aberdonian Jim Sheldon was an early and enthusiastic member of the VMCC in UK, who died in the early sixties. He is perhaps best known these days for his slim but useful book 'Veteran and Vintage Motorcycles' (1961), which traces the development of UK motorcycles up to around 1930. Jim also contributed to 'Motor Cycling', and was the author of a potted history of Nortons which appeared in August 1957. This in turn, generated a couple of interesting letters from Ike Cohen (Sturmey Archer gear box designer, amongst other things) and J Lansdown Norton (Pa Norton's son). Scans are available via this link.
