Tyres

-SG- I have various copies of 'Motor Cycling Manual' and the chart attached came from the 1946 edition. The majority of those interested in pre-war Nortons are probably aware that, for instance 26 x 3.25 is the same as 3.25 x 19 but information on the larger rim sizes and tyre designations to fit them could be useful.


Incidentally, I was recently reading a letter concerning racing spec. Nortons of the earlier thirties in which the author stated with great conviction that, during the period immediately prior to the Model 30/40 frame cradle changes, the works used 22" front tyres to overcome the front of the cradle making contact with the road ...
